MSL in Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors

MSL stands for Moisture Sensitivity Level, and is one of the standards developed by JEDEC. It has been established with the aim of preventing a phenomenon in which the sealing resin used primarily in semiconductors and similar components absorbs moisture from the atmosphere, which vaporizes during processes such as reflow soldering. This causes volumetric expansion which can lead to damage.

Our multilayer ceramic capacitors meet MSL Level 2.
When storing, please use a desiccator containing drying agent.
However, MSL applies to reflow compatible products, and so does not apply to our radial lead type NTD/KVD Series, which are flow compatible products.
