Capacitor Module Mounting Method

There are three main mounting methods for capacitors. These are flow soldering (which is the most common), reflow soldering (which has become the mainstream in recent years), and press-fit (which does not use solder). In recent years, surface-mount technology has promoted miniaturization, and reflow is becoming the mainstream method. On the other hand, it is also true that there are situations in which it is necessary to use flow soldering with through-hole devices (THD) to achieve adequate performance. Because flow soldering includes many process steps, it greatly increases the time and effort required for equipment maintenance and process management. This also affects cost. Capacitors that support methods such as through-hole reflow (THR) soldering, and solder-less press-fitting, are being actively employed to overcome the types of mounting-related challenges. We have already commercialized capacitors that support through-hole reflow (THR) and can provide samples. Why not give them a look?
1. Flow soldering
Flow soldering is a method for mounting THD components by inserting their terminals into the circuit board and applying solder. We recommend a horizontal holder for our capacitor modules.

2. Reflow soldering
Reflow soldering is a method for mounting components by applying solder to the circuit board beforehand, then applying a high temperature to melt the solder after the components have been mounted. In recent years, surface-mount technology has promoted miniaturization, and reflow is becoming the mainstream method. We recommend using capacitors which support through-hole reflow (THR). They make it possible to eliminate the flow tank and achieve an all-reflow process.

3. Press-fit
Press fitting is a method that uses pressure to mount components without solder. We recommend using a module with a pin configuration that matches your desired type.
