Precautions for Export of Supercapacitors

With regard to exporting supercapacitors, please check the latest laws and regulations in each country, as well as the most recent versions of the following:
  1. When exporting supercapacitors, fumigation may be carried out with halogenated compounds such as methyl bromide. Please note that, depending on fumigation method, this can cause corrosion due to halogen ions.
  2. Under the Export Trade Control Ordinance, if the exporter obtains information from documents and other sources related to the export transaction, that this product is being used to develop things like weapons of mass destruction, the exporter must apply for export approval from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. Moreover, regardless of the above, the exporter must apply for and obtain approval from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry if they have received a "notice" from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry that there is a chance that the export cargo may be used in the development of weapons of mass destruction.
  3. When shipping screw terminal type supercapacitors, make sure that the terminals are facing upwards during shipment to avoid the risk of fluid leakage. This applies even for products that support horizontal mounting.
  4. Changes have been made to transport operations for supercapacitors, in line with the revision of the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods by the United Nations Office at Geneva in December 2010.

For details, check the most recent laws and regulations in each country, as well as the latest versions of the United Nations Recommendations for the Transport of Dangerous Goods, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air, International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations, and International Maritime Organization (IMO) IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) Code listed below.
