About normal mode noise and common mode noise

Noise generated in power supply circuits includes normal mode noise and common mode noise, with the direction of the magnetic field generated differing depending on the noise current.
Normal mode noise

Normal mode noise is a mode in which noise returns from positive side of the power supply to the noise source via the negative side. This is also called differential mode.

Common mode noise

Common mode noise is a mode in which noise with the same phase on the positive and negative sides of the power supply travels in the same direction and returns to the noise source via the ground.
