Notice of Withdrawal of Ceramic Varistor Business

In 1971, Marucon Electronics Co., Ltd .—prior to its merger with Nippon Chemi-Con— first commercialized ceramic varistors. Since then, our ceramic varistors have been widely adopted across a broad range of applications, including industrial equipment and automotive electronics. However, after carefully considering current market conditions and future business prospects, we have determined that it is difficult to continue this business and have therefore decided to withdraw from the ceramic varistor business. Accordingly, we will discontinue the manufacturing and sales of ceramic varistors, with final shipments scheduled for March 31, 2028.

Safety Standards Compliance Status
- Products manufactured at Japan Nagai Plant
(Nagai City, Yamagata, Japan) - : Products shipped up to the end of October 2026 will be compliant with applicable safety standards.
- Products manufactured at Indonesia Plant
- : Products will remain compliant with applicable safety standards up to the final shipment date of March 31, 2028.
