Responsible Procurement

Nippon Chemi-Con works to ensure legal compliance and a high ethical standard in all our business activities, including material procurement. We engage in the following activities to promote the realization of a sustainable society and fulfill our corporate social responsibilities.

1.Basic Procurement Policy

Under the corporate philosophy of "Contributing to Environmentally and People Friendly Technology," we have outlined the following six points as our Basic Procurement Policy. This is the embodiment of our approach to material procurement to ensure we remain trusted by customers and society and are able to provide products that satisfy our customers.
This basic policy places our highest priority on legal compliance as well as respecting human rights and conserving the global environment. We outline our course of action throughout our entire supply chain for the realization of a sustainable society.

  1. Legal Compliance
  2. CSR Procurement
  3. Green Procurement
  4. Responsible Minerals Procurement
  5. Promotion of Just, Fair, and Transparent Procurement Activities
  6. Fair Relations with Suppliers

See our Basic Procurement Policy on the Material Procurement page for details.

2.Promoting CSR on Our Supply Chain

In accordance with the Nippon Chemi-Con Group Charter of Corporate Behavior, we aggressively promote initiatives aimed at fulfilling our corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Under an operating system grounded in ethical values shared across our supply chain, the Nippon Chemi-Con Group follows the Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct issued by Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) to conduct business operations that give due consideration to all stakeholders involved in our business. We ask suppliers to cooperate with regular assessments and conduct confirmation concerning the status of CSR activities.

See CSR Procurement on the Material Procurement page for details.

3.Green Procurement

Under the corporate philosophy of "Contributing to Environmentally and People Friendly Technology," we have outlined and adopted the Nippon Chemi-Con Group Green Procurement Standards and aim to enforce chemical management. These Standards position environmental conservation as our highest priority issue in all areas of business activities and enable us to provide customers with environmentally friendly products.
Additionally, we share regulatory information with suppliers through our Green Supplier Certification System. We use this system to conduct regular and continuous audits and assessments of suppliers' chemical substance and conservation management status. This system enables us to support sustainable global procurement activities.

See Green Procurement on the Material Procurement page for details.

4.Responsible Minerals Procurement

There are concerns that mineral resources excavated from high-risk regions such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo and nine surrounding countries become financial resources for violent forces engaged in child labor and other human rights violations and environmental destruction.
Nippon Chemi-Con has outlined policies for mineral procurement that comply with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance to realize a sustainable society and fulfill corporate social responsibility. Our basic policy is to not procure minerals related to disputes and human rights violations.
