TNR™ Ceramic Varistor Service Life
TNR™ ceramic varistors have a semi-permanent lifespan, when used within their rated usage temperature and circuit voltage and not subject to external stresses.
Service life cannot be estimated if the product is subject to surges, since the size and frequency are uncertain. If the size and frequency of surges are already known, it is possible to estimate from surge lifespan characteristics.
Also, see "5. TNR Deterioration" for technical notes and our general way of thinking concerning service life. We cannot estimate service life and operating time for individual part numbers because external factors such as usage environment and external surges cannot be determined.
